WELCOME TO TROOP 156!

Troop 156 is located in Disco, Michigan (Disco is the old name for part of Shelby Township).  Our Troop is one of the oldest Boy Scout Troops in the area, and has a 40 year history of excellence and service.   To date, the Troop has 104 Scouts who have earned the Rank of Eagle. The excellence continues today.

We are a boy-led troop, offering a Scouting program with emphasis on camping and outdoor skills.  Our Scouts actively practice the leadership skills they'll use as adults.

Troop 156 is a member of the Ojibwa District of the Clinton Valley CouncilBoy Scouts of America.  Our chartering organization is Peace Lutheran Church in Shelby Township, Michigan.  We are an active  Troop with a busy schedule of campouts, outdoor activities, special events, and community service projects. Our current calendar provides an idea of the Scout’s diverse interests and their energy!

All boys ages 11 to 17, in grades 6 or higher, are welcome to join or visit us at a meeting. Check out our upcoming activities and our annual calendar.  Besides having a good time, Scouting can prepare you with life skills that you won’t get in school.  Canoeing, fire building, wilderness survival, fixing a car, blasting clays with a shotgun, camping in the snow..... there’s over 120 life skills that you can learn about as you earn merit badges.

If you like fun, challenge and adventure, and making friends for life, we invite you to join us in the Adventures of Scouting!

Dream it!  Plan it!  Do it!
